I took it very easy on Oct 22 for 40 minutes flat for a local school ball field and 46m’15s’ on Tuesday morning before work in DC.Wednesday was track workout and I planned the exact work again – 3x2-miler repeat with 800m break at 6-minute pace.Art was there helping me this time and I get that done on my own; and the splits are 11m'57.32s', 12m'14.98s', & 12m'32.25s'.
Not sure why, but I actually felt the soreness this time around; skipped the morning run, and ran in Glover Archibald Trail for an hour. Autumn is here, color leaves are everywhere, on the tree, on the ground, and flowing in the air. I enjoy the warm, sight, soft trail, and then I missed my turn onto White Heaven Trail. I ended up near Massachusetts Avenue and Macomb Street.
I took Friday off, and then ran my last long-long run before marathon. I logged 21.7 miles for 2h’50m’41s’; I felt so tired on the run and feeling very sore on left leg. I hoped for the best. After the run, the 3-week taper finally begin. I was going to volunteer in MCRRC XC in the Farm on Sunday morning; but sore legs made me slept till 10.
