I rolled out of bed early on Saturday morning and drove out
to Scott Run Nature Preserve to volunteer in Spin in the Wood XC. Before the race, I was debate I should just
jog the course when my duty is finish; back and for, finally I decided should
go for it and target to run the 8K course around 40 minutes. GO was call and fast guys was charge forward,
I followed, but much slower. I jogged
the course without any pressure and finished with a time of 39m’20s’ – exactly the
same finished time as 2013’s race and felt great to run freely without racing
the clock or others. Sunday ran solo for
10 miles as the last long run.
Week of April 14 is not finish yet, but I having a very
relaxing week. Monday, I ran 6 miles
with moderate pace. Tuesday was the last
workout before marathon as we tried to get some speedy memories into our legs. The plan was to run 2 miles at MP effort, 1 mile at
HMP effort, 1200m and 800 at 10K effort, and 400m at 5K effort. Then I ran 13m’14.34 for the double, 6m’03.18
for the single, 4m’53.51 and 2m’50.32 for the 1200m and 800m, and 1m’19.62 for
the 400m. I got in 9.4 miles for the day
with good amount of warm up and warm down.
I ran identical route on Wednesday and Thursday – clocked 56m’18.86 on Wednesday
and 56m’19.53 for Thursday. I couldn't
complaint any. I feel very good and I
just need to stay off my feet for the next few days, and shake out run on Sunday
morning. It is getting so close!!!
