October 8 – October 14, 2012

Happy Columbia Day and Merry Canadian Thanksgiving Day on Monday.  I felt good and recharged, ran easy on Queensguard Field for 39m'57s', approx. 5.3 miles.

Next day on Tuesday, I managed to squeeze a run during lunch, ran for 43m'09s' by across Fourteenth Street Bridge and return back to work on Arlington Memorial Bridge, approx. 6.2 miles.

Wednesday is track workout.  I decided to take it easy after a 23-miler just few days ago.  So the plan was running 5 x mile at 6-minute pace with quarter recover jog/walk.  Lin got out of work early, met up with me at metro, and we got to the track pretty early.  After two miles of warm up and few brief chat with friends, then I was out onto the lonesome oval.  I split: 6m'01.13s', 5m'53.18s', 6m'00.07s', 5m'56.12s', & 5m'59.78s'.  I felt pretty strong after, then jog two additional warm down miles, and finished with the day with 10.24 miles.

I surprised myself without any serious soreness on Thursday morning, I guess I didn't work hard enough; I got out work early Thursday afternoon and ran for 1h'7m'5s' near home, approx. 9.1 miles.  After short 12 hours rest on Friday morning, I slowly jog toward White House and ran for 36m30s' approx. 5 miles.  Saturday morning was chilly and it was the first time for me to run with gloves.  I got in 14.53 mile for 1h'46m'49s'.   I took Sunday off from running, but did a lot of chore around the house.
