I felt somewhat better on November 5 and ran for 7 miles in 48m’29s’; then ran 5.4 miles for 39m’14s’ on Tuesday. Wednesday was track workout again and was my last one before marathon. I planned to run 6x800m with 400m recover; the pace I was target for was 1m’40s’ for first two-800, then 1m’35s’ for second, and 1m’30s’ for the last. I split: 3m'00.89s', 3m'07.48s', 3m'05.02s', 3m'04.40s', 2m'58.53s', & 2m'59.32s'. I logged total of 6.5 miles with warm up, down, and workout.
I woke up with sore legs on Thursday morning. I actually haven’t felt my legs so heavy for long while. I venture out onto Glover Archibald Trail again and unfortunately I slipped and fell on the trail face down. As I touch down, I felt my an impact on my left pectineus; the first thing came to mind was I need to call Red Fox about how to cure this in ten days; but the good news was the fall didn’t hurt me any ways. I iced the area afterward and didn't feel anything that stop me from a weekend of hard workouts. I just hope for the best as well...
I took Friday off as usual. I didn’t want to do any workout on the Wednesday before the marathon; so I decided to run tempo runs the weekend before. Therefore, I ran Candy Cane City 5k on 11/10 and finished with a time of 19m’05s’ (split: 5m’58, 6m’09, 6m’06, & 0m’49). Then the very next day, I got myself on starting line of Veterans’ Day 10K and ran it at 38m’51s’ (split:6m’09, 6m’17, 6m’26, 6m’10, 6m’12, 5m’57, & 1m’41).
I felt very strong, confident, and no pain in the sensitive area as I went to bed on Sunday night.
